Nobody warned you about these 3 things that happen to your body in the first 24 hours after delivery 👇🏾

1. THE SHAKING 🥶
Uncontrollable trembling right after delivery — hormones, exhaustion, and temperature change. Normal. But terrifying if nobody told you.

2. THE SWEATING 💦
Your body expelling up to 2 litres of pregnancy fluid through sweat. Soaking your sheets at night. Also completely normal.

3. THE AFTERPAINS 😣
Your uterus contracting back to size — worse during breastfeeding and worse with every subsequent baby. Real. Painful. And nobody mentions it.

You deserved to know all of this before you left that hospital. 💚

The hospital sent you home with a pad and a prayer 🙏🏾 Nobody explained lochia, what it is, what is normal, and when to be worried.

Take note of this 👇
• Week 1 — heavy, bright red, possible small clots ✅
• Week 2 — lighter, pinkish-brown ✅
• Weeks 3–6 — yellowish, whitish, then stops ✅

Go to hospital immediately if:
⚠️ Soaking 1+ pad per hour for 2 hours
⚠️ Clots bigger than a 50 kobo coin
⚠️ Bleeding restarts after stopping

Postpartum haemorrhage does not always look like a dramatic emergency. Sometimes it looks like “heavy bleeding” that everyone around you says is normal.

Know the signs 👇🏾
