I’m a longtime admirer of Martin Moreno. I was honored to gather with community to witness him wrestle with personal history, Chicano art history, and a current political dilemma. Vulnerable. Powerful. Beautiful.

Thanks to @cahokiaphx for a great Indigenous Peoples’ Day! The Apache Crown Dance is one of my favorite ceremonial performances, and I was blessed to witness the mountain spirits come to life! Shout out to @azcenterphx for hosting.

Quick getaway to do research, see art, and make new friends in Tejas. Shout out to my homie-collaborator @c.ramirez__ for making this happen. We got to hang with godfather of Chicano art history Tomás Ybarra-Frausto and cruise in a minivan!

Took the crew to my favorite place in Nevada - the Ruby Mountains! Lamoille Canyon was cold & windy, but worth it.

Took my guy to his first NBA game! He got some autographs & learned how to taunt the opponents and their fans. We finished the day at @voodoodoughnut - a Sandoval postgame tradition.

2025 was filled with so many blessings and so much growth. I got to watch my sweet baby turn into a spicy, independent, hilarious little girl. And Alma got to witness her papa accomplish some major creative & professional goals. So much gratitude for the glow up. Hoping 2026 is filled with more travel, more time with friends & family, more time in nature, and more rest than we got this year.

As 2025 wraps up, we’re taking a moment to look back at our bestselling titles of the year! Barefoot Heart (in English & Spanish), Bilingual Blues, Ancient American Poets, and Día De Los Muertos: A Chicano Arts Legacy (also in English & Spanish) topped our list. Make sure to grab your copies of these amazing titles and many more from the link in bio! by @mathewsandoval
