Realizing I'm not posting that much. Honestly because it's been bussy and by the time images are released I'm on the next gig :). Also need to work on my instatag skills. For this one. Casual sunrise at Cap de Creus, Spain. Woke up at 4:30am to get to the spot in time. 5 other people were there. A sunrise is so cliché that as an artist you feel forced to avoid it. But the truth? Sunrises and sunsets will always have a magical feeling. It's different every time yet amazing. It stops people in their tracks, makes them slow down and reflect. It's so unbelievable that despite everything going on in the world, we still get to witness most beauty for free. Also, I didn't take any rocks, stepped on any flowers or altered the landscape in any way when I was there :). I did however broke of the strap of my lightmeter, wielded too many cameras and reminded myself to make beter decisions on packing gear if I want to keep it simple. I recently decided to sell all of my medium format gear. Not because I didn't like it, in fact , my Contax645 was my most favourite camera. But because I couldn't stand the pressure of owning such a beautiful camera and not being able to justify having it. My clients didn't ask for it and self-funding shoots on film where a reason not to shoot at all. So I made a change and decided to focus on durability, quality, joy and intention. Only one brand seemed to check those boxes for me. I was hesitant on diving into a brand that is known more for it's price than for it's products so I started small. Shooting the D-lux8 first. This camera feels so intuitive that nothing beats it's compact power. So I felt confident to swap my first Contax645 for a leica M-A. The purest of all analog camera's. I have tested it over and over again and found the leica M lenses to outperform both my Contax Zeiss glass as my canon EF L lenses. So I started using my Leica next to my other Contax. I love analog film but the costs have made me to reconsider my goals. And so I decided to let go of my other Contax and all of it's accessories. I traded up for a Leica M10. A camera I tought I would never own. Finally I would be able to shoot the leica M glass digitally. And yes, I have shot them on my Canon R5. But somehow things feel different when paired with a leica body. Shooting these beauties doesn't always make me faster, better or more artistic. But that's not the point. These machines are just a joy to use more than anything else out there. Looking forward to shifting my gear bit by bit. #leica #leicam #leicam10 @leicacamerabelgium @leica_camera by @mathiashannes
