There’s a moment when the dream stops being a fantasy.

When the world title fight is no longer something you imagine.

It’s real.

It’s booked.

And the person standing across from you is one of the best in the world.

@mathiewickedbodz knows that moment well. As strength and conditioning coach to Australian boxer Jai Opetaia, a two-time cruiserweight world champion, he’s seen firsthand what happens when an athlete has to turn belief into reality.

Jai went from watching fighters like Mairis Briedis for hours, studying the very best in the world, to eventually standing across the ring from him fighting for a world title.

That requires a different level of belief.

Not blind confidence. Not hero worship. Not fantasy.

A grounded belief that says:

“I belong here.”

At the highest level, mindset isn’t about pretending the challenge isn’t enormous.

It’s about accepting exactly what’s in front of you and believing you’re capable of meeting it.

Information has never been easier to access.

AI can build you a training program in seconds. Technology can analyse performance, recovery, output and almost every metric imaginable.

But at the elite level, data alone isn’t enough.

The top 5% of athletes need more than a program.

They need someone who understands how they think, how they respond under pressure, what motivates them and how to interpret the data specifically for them.

Technology is becoming incredibly powerful.

But the real advantage still comes from knowing the human behind the numbers.

Hayles and I came over to sports tec fitness convention in Bangkok to see how the world’s changing with technology in the industry & to source some new equipment.
Crazy the change from 30 years ago till now. Funny thing we noticed, it’s all just a fancy way of doing things that’s always been done but with a computer screen in front if it 🤷🏽‍♂️

None of it substitutes for “hard work” but awesome to see what the future hold for the industry. Makes it easy for the inexperienced to look like they know what they are doing now as it tells you what to do😜 taken in Centara Grand at CentralWorld by @mathiewickedbodz
