WHAT'S NEXT

I'll continue with my project: "at the catwalk" (metamorphosis), so for example with my seeweed pieces, my paper pieces and so on.
The plan is to finish the series for the exhibition during "Kunstlijn Haarlem" 6,7 november. by @mathilde_renes

Place

On holiday in Bretagne on the beach one day there was a lot of seaweed, really a lot! What a place! 😉
Suddenly I saw a dress and jack in it, so I arranged some of the weeds and now it was actually ready for the catwalk!
So I took pictures and home again printed them on transfers and ironed it on linen. I'm so happy with the results, so now next step is adjusting with embroidery, inkpencils, paint or appliqué. Can't wait to take next step! by @mathilde_renes

OVERSIZE

Normally I don't make very big pieces, but once in a while I love to! Recently in the series Fashion I did the first 2 with paper and stitches on linen. ("My favorite summerdress" 70 x 100 cm and "Sovistigated" 90 x 100cm)

The next 2 "Punk" and "Women in green" (both 70 x 100cm) are from earlier years.
The 4th is called "Lorelei" (65 x 100cm) is from years ago.
All 3 mixed media: appliqué, transfers and embroidery. by @mathilde_renes

TIME

Speaking about time: I love pictures from women or fashion in past times, especially round the middle of the 20th century. (1940, 1950 and 1960).
Here a piece I'm working on, inspired by a Dior dress from 1951. (Almost finished). by @mathilde_renes
