New Religion; a science fiction contemporary dance performance where technology's omnipresence creates a godlike authority, challenging the concept of free will.

Excited about the time ahead, where I will be working with the installation 'Nevel' by Lawrence Malstaf to create my next performance 'New Religion'.

'New Religion' will be premiering on Monday the 21st of June at The Arctic Arts Festival 2021.

Feeling lucky to have the opportunity to work with so many, talented, inspirational people. Stay tuned for more info, looking forwards to share this process with you! taken in Tromsø, Norway by @mathildecaeyers

New Religion premiering at @festspillnn 2021. Costumes are by the amazing @linemaher 👏 The back sometimes gives the illusion of actual skin and works beautifully on a moving body, giving both the dancers and audience member a spine chilling sensation 😉

Thank you to @scenekunst.no and Hedvig Bergem Søiland for writing about ‘Solaris?’. It is a relief that the work gets it’s own life through someone else's writing, and makes the unavoidable emptiness, after working on a project for so long, less empty. You can read the whole review (in Norwegian) here: https://scenekunst.no/artikler/en-guidet-tur-til-solaris by @mathildecaeyers

Klar for sci-fi i skogen?

On the 29th and 30th of August I will be showing a soloversion of the performance ‘Solaris?’ at Dansens Hus, Oslo.

The past month I have been working together with @lawrencemalstaf in Tromsø to adapt the performance, and will now continue the work in Oslo for the next four weeks!

The performance is a fictional scientific tour through the woods, where the forest becomes the surface of an extraterrestrial planet. Inspired by Stanisław Lem's 1961 novel Solaris, the piece combines the procedure of scientific inquiry with poetic and choreographic composition to examine memory, perception, and the limits of human understanding when meeting the unknown.
