The wild doesn't ask for attention, it simply deserves it.

The Black-winged Stilt spends a significant part of its day preening an essential ritual, not just a display of elegance. By carefully aligning its feathers and spreading waterproofing oils from a gland near its tail, it maintains insulation, buoyancy, and efficient flight. Despite its delicate appearance, it has one of the longest leg-to-body ratios of any bird, perfectly adapted for wading through shallow wetlands.

🐿️ Sometimes wildlife photography is about patience. Sometimes it's about perfect timing.

After several days of observing this Indian Palm Squirrel, I finally captured something a little different. This tongue-out sequence made the wait completely worthwhile! 😊
