In the old towns of Puglia, the line between home and street feels almost nonexistent. Doors stay open, sheer curtains offer just a little privacy, and everyday life unfolds right alongside the constant flow of people passing through, ticking off their lists and must-see spots. I often found myself looking in — curious, but conscious of where someone else’s private life begins.

Maybe this is what I’m rediscovering in travel: the value of slowing down. Seeing less, noticing more. Sometimes it’s enough to sit somewhere, take it in, and simply let a place unfold around you. Perhaps a little dolce far niente — doing nothing, and being completely there.

Holding on to summer, and to moments like these.
Some days ask for nothing more than salty skin, clear water, and the people who make you feel at home. Feeling grateful.

Bratislava.
Between medieval streets and the concrete legacy of the socialist era, the city carries its history in plain sight.
These are a few moments captured while walking through it.

Zagreb archive.

Forgotten film rolls, camera notes, random corners, family visits, new connections, accidental memories.

A year in Zagreb somehow collected itself like this.

GrassWidow

In 2013, Cocorosie released Tales of a Grass Widow — and I remember being so inspired by that album that this shoot came together.

Somewhere between wild fields, summer grass, a slightly haunted melancholy and a bit contrived I tried to capture the feeling the music gave me. And even though I would photograph this series differently today, I still really love the cinematic atmosphere these images carry.

A few days ago I randomly stumbled across the series again on an old hard drive, got lost in the memories for a while, and felt like finally sharing it.

#talesofagrasswidow #blackandwhitephotography A moody black-and-white portrait series inspired by nature and dreamlike melancholy. A young woman with long dark hair moves through tall grass and open fields, wearing flowing dark clothing and lace textures. The images feel cinematic, slightly surreal and nostalgic, with soft light, strong contrasts and an intimate, haunting atmosphere inspired by the album Tales of a Grass Widow by Cocorosie. by @matijasduerr

A while ago, I had the chance to do a spontaneous portrait session with Snezana Golubović, at a time when her durational performance I LOVE YOU was very present.
We recently came across these images again – and I’m happy to share them.

I say: I (still) LOVE YOU.
