Kibera has something no manual can teach.

This week, we visited the @the50percentnbo of The 50 Percent to accompany the first cohort of the Young Person's Guide to Systems Change, delivered in partnership with @dayafrica.africa in the heart of Kibera.
What we found was exactly what we were looking for: young people with hard questions, a genuine appetite for critical thinking and a real urgency to understand the systems shaping their lives.
The Young Person's Guide is not a course about sustainability. It is an invitation to see the world differently, to identify leverage points, think in systems and build collective agency. In Kibera, that resonates in a way that is difficult to put into words.
A huge thank you to @orieny_japheth , Brilliant and Yvonne for making this possible. Their work on the ground is what turns an idea into something real. And thank you to DAY Africa for the trust and for co-creating this space with us.
Most of all: to every young person in Kibera who showed up ready to learn and to transform — this is for you, and it belongs to you.
This is just the beginning.

Hola hijo.
Hoy estás cumpliendo un año, pero seguramente esta publicación la vas a leer dentro de muchísimo tiempo.
Y quiero decirte aquí algunas cosas por si alguna vez necesitas recordarlo:
- Te amamos desde que supimos que existias. Y decidimos formar una familia y un hogar donde puedas crecer y ser feliz. Y espero con todo mi corazón que cuando leas esto, lo hayamos logrado.
- El recuerdo más feliz de toda mi vida es haberte alzado en brazos por primera vez. Hasta el día de hoy al menos, espero que tengamos muchos más en los años que vienen.
- No me debes nada. Nunca. Todo lo hice por amor a vos.
- Si alguna vez te lo preguntas, la respuesta siempre va a ser sí: estoy orgulloso de vos. De las decisiones que tomaste, de los caminos que elegiste y de la persona que sos. Incluso si ya no estoy para decírtelo, estoy orgulloso de vos.

Feliz vida Viggo Ismael. Ojalá que los años nos alcancen para darte un poquito de la alegría que has traído a nuestras vidas.
