’Spomin’ 8c (10 pitches 350 m), first female ascent ✅✨🥹

This one means a lot. What an epic day of climbing, I don’t think I’ve ever tried so hard.

10 pitches: 6c, 6c, 8a+, 8c, 8b+, 8a+, 7a, 7b+, 6a, 5

I lead all the pitches, with the most incredible support from @tinajhafsaas - thank you ❤️

It took us 14 hours car to car, so we weren’t fast 😅 But climbing the last couple of pitches in the dark with no wind was a really cool mix of calmness and epic. Standing on the summit of Anica Kuk, completely exhausted, together is a memory I will cherish forever - and ’Spomin’ actually means memory ✨

It’s been an amazing process and experience to return to this project, feeling so much progress in my climbing since I was here in 2023. The climbing that felt uncomfortable and a bit intimidating last time, now felt interesting and fun to climb. I felt really good on the wall and felt so much joy climbing.

On a more personal note, this was a very emotional day. My dad - whom I started climbing with when I was 11 years old and who has always been my biggest supporter - has cancer and had been in the hospital since a few days before. Things were not looking good. As I topped out the 8c and 8b+ pitches I cried. I had this strong feeling like I was doing this climb for him. That carried me up the wall.

This one was for you, dad ❤️

IT’S DONE! 🥹

‘Niemisis’, second ascent, in Niemisel 🇸🇪 Grade proposal: 9a

My longest project ever. Feels surreal to close the chapter on this one ⛓️ I started working on the route spring of 2021. I was in a great shape and after my first trip I thought I would come back and send it quickly - that was not the case. In total I spent ~35 days in Niemisel in 2021, 2 days this summer and 10 days this trip.

The route is unique in the sense that it’s extremely sustained, the crux consists of 19 hard, crimpy and technical moves in a row with no rest. I fell more than 20 times going to the same hold (crux move 16). Big up to @northern_climber for the vision and @hannespuman for the FA!

Regarding the grade. Hannes didn’t grade the route. Comparing it to other routes and the feeling I had when I climbed it, It’s the hardest route that I’ve done. It’s also the route I’ve spent the most time / attempts on (also taking into account that the route was wet for a substantial period of time in 2021). I also used the ‘darth grader’ and came to the same conclusion as my own “feeling” of difficulty of the climb. Therefore I propose 9a. Would love for more climbers to come try this gem 💎

Regarding the name. Together with the local climber who discovered and developed the climbing in Niemisel, the person bolting the route and the first ascentionist, it was decided that the name should be changed from ‘Nybörjare 7b’ to the original name that @northern_climber had come up with - ‘Niemisis’

Frankenjura 💕 I’ve been looking forward to climbing here since I was just one week out of spine surgery earlier this year... which added both a lot of excitement and pressure coming into this trip.

During the first few days, I felt this heavy urge to prove to myself that I was fully back by clipping chains on hard routes. But after completing a climb that felt challenging, I realized that the real victory is just being here, fully enjoying the process, finding the flow, and reconnecting with the movement, nature and friends.

Excited to explore more in the coming weeks 💫

Solvik recap 🌻 my first climbing trip post injury and first 8c post injury.

@bill_jp_hamilton and I borrowed van from @dometic customized by @henrik.woodwerk for two weeks and had an amazing time in Solvik (2 h from Stockholm) 🚐

The whole trip was a mental journey: on the first day on the warm up route I completely freaked out.. When I started trying ’Utopia’ 8c, all I thought about was how far it was between the bolts and where it would be safe for me to fall.

After I sent ’Eddie the monster’ 8b+ I got a huge boost of confidence and, more importantly, a shift in mindset. By the end of the trip I was able to focus fully on climbing and finding my flow on the wall - and taking some pretty big whippers! Cherry on cake was sending ’Utopia’ on the last day of the trip after four consecutive days of climbing. It was a great experience ❤️

I hope my power endurance and finger strength have kept improving because now it’s about to be tested even more 👀 Excited!

’Utopia’ 8c ✨

Last week I climbed Utopia, 8c. I wanted a challenge and to see where I’m currently at in my climbing. Since we only have two 8cs near Stockholm, I’d actually climbed this once before, seven years ago. So the (re)send in itself doesn’t really mean much in the grand scheme of things, but personally this felt like a huge milestone. 6.5 months post spine surgery and months of hard work back to try hard on the wall.

This was my first climbing trip post injury. @bill_jp_hamilton and spent two weeks in Solvik in van from @dometic and @henrik.woodwerk . The trip in itself was a journey, from freaking out on the warm up route the very first day, climbing ’Eddie the monster’ 8b+ and getting a huge boost of confidence to sending Utopia on the final day on my fourth day on.

It meant so much to me to try my hardest and finding the flow ❤️ more to come!

Earlier this year I was laying on the floor unable to sit, walk for more than 10-20 minutes or feel parts of my right leg. It was some of the scariest, darkest and most uncertain months I’ve gone through.

I’ve been thinking a lot about what to write about the injury. I finally felt like I had processed it enough to share it with you.

A huge thank you to @bill_jp_hamilton , my family, my friends, my coaches, my physios and my sponsors for the support + everyone that has sent me encouraging messages, it has truly meant so much ❤️
