You know what the best thing is for postpartum recovery? Sleep.
.
Hear us out.
.
We know, that no parent gets enough sleep or rest, from the moment they bring their (first) child home. But prioritising an extra 5, 10, 20 mins can aid with metabolism, anxiety, healing and your relationship. So if that means, asking a friend to help and watch the baby, your partner to take the baby for a walk, turning off your phone and TV shows earlier or taking a nap, DO it.
.
Like with fitness, recovery takes a certain amount of discipline to reap the rewards. Your chores can wait. 💚

Mamas, this flow is for you. To unstick the joints, feel more open, breathe, listen to the ocean, surrender and come out a little lighter. Sending lots of love 💚. #yoga #pregnancy #postpartumbody #exercises by @matildacare_

Take a nap, breathe, go for a walk alone, call a friend, eat a delicious meal, ask your partner to let you sleep in, journal, drink water. It’s all free.

Working moms, if it feels like your family’s entire world is sitting on your shoulders during the pandemic, it’s because it probably is. A new study comparing dual-income couples before and after shutdown shows just how uneven the division of labor can be, even for women with active, present partners. 🎨: @monicagarwood by @matildacare_

Fit Friday: @lisa.marie.ryan is a mom of two and has recently shared a great video with us on postpartum sit-ups. In her own words “I never thought I would change careers; however, this has become my heart project that I cannot ignore. I am on a mission to help moms avoid the misinformation, confusion, panic, pain, and fear that I experienced during my return to fitness. Even though advertisements on social media show a “one size fits all” answer for postpartum fitness, each situation is drastically different.”
We couldn’t agree more! Stay tuned for her full story in our upcoming newsletters. #matildacares #fitnessjourney #fitmom by @matildacare_
