Mat will give us tremendous joy with a short set of vocal only noise & roll performance at the next Outside the BigMac in @pankeculture 10 october.

Mat Pogo’s solo performances are a blend of rock'n'roll, noise, nonsense language, electronics and abstract narrative theater, packed in a highly entertaining electro-acoustic cocktail where music, sounds and anecdotes are constantly colliding.
Improviser, music producer, DJ and comic book artist, Pogo was born in Rome in 1970 and lives in Berlin. He's been active in the European underground since the early 1990s, when he co-founded the multimedia collective Burp Enterprise and the avant-pop band Jealousy Party.

I’m working on Yorgo Flat! #2, my new fanzine.

While I was sitting there at the table, prostheses down, inspired by the stench leaking out of my phone, a little fart-comic slipped out of me, which I dedicate to all those who want so, so very much, and who, being that they want so very much, are therefore only rightfully entitled to have it, then. And to my comrades, sucking each other’s thumbs.

I wouldn’t have loved comics nearly this much if I’d been born in ’96. by @matpogo

Right on the border, straddling the territorial boundary between Lichtenberg and Friedrichshain, in what would have been East Berlin in the days when Berlin was divided, there is Villa Kuriosum.

Technically, it falls under the jurisdiction of the Lichtenberg municipality, but in practice it is much closer to many areas of Friedrichshain, above all the Rigaer Straße area, known for its squats, house projects and utopian urban experiments.

Villa Kuriosum is a special place. An experiment in self-organisation and extraterritorial imagination. A flexible, ever-changing space that, among many other things, facilitates and hosts our expressive tensions and acts as a physical connective space.

It is surrounded by a magical garden overlooking the railways of the empire.

It is a place that requires constant care and protection. Especially now that the weather is about to get colder.

Tomorrow, FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 25, BUSS: Big & Ugly Soundsystem and its creature friends are putting on another mega evening of musical and anti-musical activities to raise funds for Villa.

All proceeds will go towards this purpose.

The solidarity event will take place in Kreuzberg, at that place which was smoky and then became the sister’s home, the one on Bethaniendamm.

BUSS guarantees a special sound experience. The wide-ranging sonic offering will tantalise all those who are not afraid of either responsibility or overwhelming emotions.
