Well, today went better than I could have imagined. A new shiney PB of 3:19, 26 minutes off my last maratho PB. Perhaps I’ll give a full debrief another time. But until then I just want to thank every single person who came out to support and shouted my name at me, I really couldn’t have done it without you.

2019 New York Marathon complete. Today was tough, a real race of two halves. The first 13 miles were pretty much perfect. Then the lack of miles in my legs meant the ol’ IT band flared up like a hot poker and from mile 17 it was a pure slog. Sporadic running with lots of walking, not really how I wanted to spend the day. Came in at 4:35. Got to hand it to the people of New York, they really make this race an unbelievable experience, they’re just next level.

One thing, and one thing alone kept me going through Sundays Marathon, and that single thought was how much better my transformation Tuesday post would be if I didn’t slow down. So here we have it, a collection of dates and times which, when looking back, make me feel awfully proud, thank you for coming on this journey with me 🙏.
