Garry Kasparov’s games were typically at the core of my dad’s chess study sessions. He would print the study materials, set up the board and analyze the motives in every key strategy.

Garry Kasparov was the greatest chess player he knew.

The clock ticked, and a new name emerged from the ranks—Magnus Carlsen. The Norwegian super grandmaster has built a legacy for himself and has stood out, in his rights, as one of the greatest chess players of all time.

It was a far-fetched dream, but meeting Magnus Carlsen realizes the dreams and passions of my Dad and every African kid who turns to chess as a safe haven and escape route from the harshness of reality. From here onward, the stars no longer hold the limits.

It still feels surreal celebrating this day—a remembrance of the day we bound our lives together. Time moving on x10 has made a year feel like a month. Put simply, with you, time loses its measure, and its speed feels motionless.

I’m grateful for all I have learned with you, for all the laughter, the disappointments and the quiet. Thank you for being my peace. I love you always. Happy Anniversary, my love❤️

Seeing my two younger brothers get married reminds me that God truly has a unique plan for each of us, we all run different races at different times. I’m so grateful to be their big sister and to be treated like the queen that I am, surrounded by four amazing brothers and my little sister. 👑

Kudos to the ultimate Queen of Boys, my mom, for raising God-fearing children who honor both her and God. 💖 Daddy, I hope you’re proud of us. Keep resting, till we meet again❤️‍🩹, your baby girl ❣️.
