Had a fun time at collosalcon north this weekend. Got to hang out and make an ass out of myself with my bestest homies. Learned a lot about sewing and costume design and really is a springboard to advance the craft. maybe it'll get me out of the hood one day!! by @matt_primito

Twoish years and 40 lb later, I finally learned how to kick!

Over this fight camp I've been sentimental, damn near cried every day. I'm the worlds strongest crybaby because I'm always thinking how thankful I am to the sport.

If you have known me for the past decade, you no doubt figured out something was off. I've always carried an empty feeling that held the weight of the world on me. When I laughed it never came from my belly, and my outward shows of emotion never came from the heart.

When I stepped into the gym, I learned to fight back, martially and emotionally. Ironically I found peace when I was hitting pads, and slowly I felt my humanity come back. The sport gave me back a piece of myself that I thought I had lost forever. I fight in the memory of the people I loved, and I'm thankful for everyone who built me to the person I am (in and out of the ring), but at the end of the day I do this for the me that was depressed, the me who wanted a different tomorrow, and now the me that builds a better future. taken in Forward Thai Boxing by @matt_primito

Whaddup y'all. So I broke my promise to my mom that I wouldn't fight this year but no doubt you've seen the poster and announcement that I am in fact, fighting.

I'm a man of my word and I don't take it lightly, but the reason was because a fellow martial artist and dear friend of ours unexpectedly passed. Maybe it's an excuse to fight, but I feel compelled to fight in honor of her, as well as the important people who have pushed me and put me in the place where I am today.

I've been pushing myself, both on top of my studies and my training. A promise to my grandma for literally her only request she's asked of me in the form of a degree, and a promise to Hannah that I will be the best martial artist and athlete I can be.

So I do ask that you support me on Nocember 16th; it made all the difference to see my friends and family at my first fight. Despite being in Hammond IN it felt like a home game which gave me so much strength. I hope you can come out (to a new nicer venue now, I might add) to support me in person again. You'll see a different beast this night because I won't be in there alone, but I'll have the strength of those passed my fists for this next fight with me.
