Quinta Do Lago 5 days of torture by @matt_simonds_wcc

I’ve had a few days to recover and reflect on Sunday, I trained hard in the shitty cold wet months of winter and felt confident and strong that the hard work I’d put in would see me accomplishing the target I’d set myself. Maybe it was over confidence or maybe I simply underestimated the work needed maybe I got my hydration or fuelling wrong. But very early into the 26.2 miles it was very apparent I wasn’t going to hit my target, then the real struggle begins “why am I doing this to myself” “just stop you’ve given it a go” “loads of people don’t finish” plenty of negative thoughts not many positive. However, thanks to everyone who was kind enough to donate to my chosen charities there was no way I wasn’t going to finish, so thank you ❤️❤️🙏🙏 we ended up raising well over 3k split 50/50 between two charities that mean a lot personally as friends and family have been affected by both illnesses.
Sunday wasn’t my day to achieve my target but in reflection that doesn’t really matter it just means I’ve got to try again. by @matt_simonds_wcc
