IT problems typically don’t start as emergencies.

They start as small issues that everyone learns to live with.

A backup alert that gets ignored.

A server that’s “been a little slow lately.”

A firewall that’s overdue for updates.

An employee still using the same password they’ve had for years.

At first, it’s just a small hole in the boat.

And usually, someone notices.

The challenge is that there are always reasons not to deal with it today:

“Everything is still working.”

“We’ll look at it next quarter.”

“We’ve never had a problem before.”

“It’s not a big deal.”

Until one day it is.

The organizations that experience the fewest technology disruptions aren’t necessarily spending the most money.

They’re simply addressing small problems before they become expensive ones.

Good IT isn’t about reacting to disasters.

It’s about noticing the hole while the boat is still floating.
