Tip of the week: Dropshot Weights

Some people tie a knot. Some people thread the line through so it can easily break off if snagged. Here’s a video showing why I never tie a knot. You notice the rod unload and then reload with the fish in the tree. The unload is the dropshot weight snagging after the bite and breaking off in the tree. The @trokarhooks TK-150 is such a great dropshot hook because it’s sharp and pins the fish. Once the dropshot weight is gone, it’s just keeping pressure to get the fish out of the tree. Bonus tip is that not all dropshot weights have the same size opening. This means some dropshot weights will not catch your 6-8lb flouro. Hope that helps!
