Time out in space…

Grateful for this freedom and space in these tumultuous times. Came across the below words recently, written in the November 1939 SMC journal which resonated immensely.

‘The sport of mountaineering, more than any other, brings members of all nations together in pursuit of their common interest, and the meetings in the huts in the Alps and other mountain ranges create a spirit of camaraderie and understanding which, had it extended to the political sphere, would surely have led to international differences being settled at the conference table instead of by recourse to arms.’

A tiny preview of my time in Finnmark, having an incredible time of moving in the mountains under the Arctic sun and constantly changing weather.

Feeling incredibly lucky to be experiencing this season in the North under our own steam and enjoying amazing landscapes, wonderful people, phenomenal waffles and hidden gems! All the makings of a magical trip!

Patagonia, you absolute show-off 😮‍💨

We came back for the jagged granite towers stabbing the sky, glaciers that look like frozen oceans mid-crash, and winds that politely suggested we rethink our life choices.

Fitz Roy just stands there like it knows it’s the main character, the crown jewel of Patagonia! The scale is wild with tiny humans, massive mountains and time moving slowly, shelled to our backpacks with no internet and big open space.

We left with sore legs, windburned faces, and that quiet, grateful feeling you only get when nature completely outshines your camera roll. taken in Patagonia by @mattdoran_
