Under the art direction of @tipstudio_ and @matteobimbi__studio , Artieri 1895 presents new collections by @_zaven_ and @lottostudio.mb

Between light and matter, weight and transparency, function and contemplation, In Between explores the dialogue between alabaster, other materials, and the spaces they inhabit.

Through transformation and exchange, matter responds to its surroundings, revealing new possibilities and meanings. Objects suspended between function and contemplation.

An off-the-shelf playground swing seat, solved for autonomy.

Insieme. Nome che non poteva essere più azzeccato per intitolare questa mostra curata magnificamente da @sabato.desarno, con la direzione creativa di @francescomari , ai quali va un grande abbraccio, e organizzata e prodotta in modo impeccabile dal team di Vanity Fair Italia.

Insieme. Come il percorso che abbiamo iniziato con la Cooperativa Artieri Alabastro di Volterra qualche anno fa attraverso il progetto collettivo @artieri_1895 , fatto per amore dell’alabastro e, soprattutto, delle persone che lo lavorano, e che questa mostra celebra in maniera commovente.

Insieme. Grazie di cuore a tutti i compagni di viaggio, a partire da @alabastro_silvia che è il collante di tutto, a @piero.melani e a tutta la banda degli alabastrai: anarchici, controcorrente ma anche i migliori al mondo in quello che fanno, agli amici di @tipstudio_ che condividono con me il lavoro quotidiano, a @filoferro_architetti con cui abbiamo mosso i primi passi del progetto, a tutti i collaboratori che ci supportano con le loro preziose competenze, e ultimo ma non ultimo a mio padre @carlobimbidesign , oltre che maestro nel lavoro, anche colui che da volterrano mi ha trasmesso l’amore e la passione per questa pietra e le persone che la plasmano.

The A130 side table by @matteobimbi__studio was born as a reinterpretation of Angelo Mangiarotti’s research on the elementary beam-column-roof connection in a domestic context.
Echoing Mangiarotti’s constructive philosophy, alabaster is explored as a small scale architecture, where rigor, simplicity, and the poetry of construction become guiding principles.
Beyond its material qualities, the transparency and luminosity of alabaster become design tools, visually lightening the volume, highlighting the joints, and transforming the object into a fragment of contemporary architecture.
