Took myself off on a little solo date to Harrogate. Self care day if you like. This time of year I generally start to feel anxiety rise up in my chest. A symptom of the season and how pressurised it has become in recent years. Im sure plenty of you out there feel the same, right? Whilst many are winding down and looking forward to spending time with their families, people working in retail and hospitality are entering the most stressful time of trading. Do try and be patient and kind out there. Thankfully picked up the last few presents i needed and treated myself to some bangin Birria Tacos and a restorative pint at @paradise_harrogate_ a proper oasis, certainly warmed my cockles! Also wore a bunch of feelgood, cosy garb which always helps. Mixture of lots of ol favourites. @kapitalglobal fleece for maximum insulation. EG Madison in dense duck canvas (and shoulder holster) providing ballast and utility respectively. Finished with Needles HD’s and robust Red Wings adding grip and gore to my gait. So as some of you might know, @sam.binstead and I recently had the opportunity to work with Osaka based retailer @haku_clothing_japan on a mini lookbook and joint interview. I’m so pleased that we can finally share the results. I chose three distinctive ensembles from Haku’s extensive roster to showcase the diversity of their brand mix. I think we pretty much nailed the assignment, with Sam’s incredible photography/videography and settings taking it next level. @sam.binstead is such a talent and I’ve been very lucky to work with him several times. We definitely have a strong synergy together as I think this latest work shows. Hopefully we get to do some more of the same sometime soon. I also need to say a huge thankyou to @slowfashionconnoisseur for providing the introductions and @yumi_ayres for trusting us to do our thing! Appreciate you both! Thanks to @ellapeckcreative for the support and assistance on shoot day! Having your keen eye and positivity was a massive boost! Finally thank you @haku_clothing_japan for trusting Sam and I to create without boundaries! I think we both feel so privileged and so proud of what we accomplished with these shots! Barrelling around Shibuya. Most definitely a heavy step count day! First stop @fullcount_official for some winter weight denim! @norbit_hiroshinozawa x @barbour at @unby_tokyo Gardens in the sky @unby_tokyo a must visit to check out their @as2ov bags (and vests!) amongst plenty more besides! @lizzie_rascal_leeds doing her thing Tokyo has many faces! Killer Ramen Even the stairwells get a glow up! The @meanswhile store is one of the best retail spaces I’ve ever seen. Incredible. And the Dieter Rams system is the icing on the cake. It’s kinda hidden away but worth the pilgrimage! @nepenthes_tokyo has long been a place I’ve wanted to visit. Great to finally make it a reality! I was fairly restrained tough. So here’s a quick dump of our final three days in Osaka. The city has its own very distinctive vibe, bolder and brasher than other places we visited. It’s a place that demands you to eat or be eaten. And we definitely ate 😆 We particularly enjoyed the many green spaces amidst the metropolis, the world class art museums, the food (naturally) and the quirkier suburbs over Dotonboris utter madness. Plenty to see and do, again we left feeling we’d barely scratched the surface! Have way more to share with you from Japan of course but for now I’m still processing one of the most incredible two weeks of my life. Lots of amazing connections with people. Great food and drink everywhere as standard. Temples. Mountains. Hikes and endless smiles from the pair of us. Definitely a befitting belated honeymoon for us. So glad I got to experience it all with my wife and best friend @lizzie_rascal_leeds taken in Osaka, Japan by @matterialist

Absolutely honoured to have a short meet and greet with my favourite designer, the visionary @hiroshi_nozawa whilst we were in Tokyo. Quick Kyoto fit check featuring a couple of my favourite Japanese brads @norbit_hiroshinozawa and @sillage.online Hard to explain how I feel about being in Japan for the very first time. The gentility of the people has absolutely blown me away. The food has been sensational. And of course the shopping is wildly good. Might have overindulged a bit already. Perfect conditions yesterday for a leisurely stomp. A familiar Hebden to Heptenstall to Hardcastle crags loop. Despite it feeling like the last days of summer, everything is still incredibly green and the shrooms were out in force. This @goldwin_global shell has to be one of my favourite purchases of the year, partially due to the unique colour but mainly as it’s just so versatile. Exactly the kind of piece you need for the seasonal transition.
