Been working on a series of photographs from a trip to France many years ago. Here is a draft for a warm soft look that evokes my now fading memories. taken in Versailles France by @matthew.skala

Rough Landing back in LA a few weeks ago.

Somehow landing in LA was more beautiful than landing in Alaska. The view of the hollywood sign (in the third shot) is epic. I think the pilot was enjoying it as well. by @matthew.skala

I made a short doc for activist, environmentalist, and adventurer @robin.greenfield while he was living in Griffith Park for 3 months for his non-ownership experiment.

These are some frame grabs from the film. The full short is on Robin’s YouTube channel—link in my bio.

Three months ago, I leapt into a dream that most would consider a nightmare... to own nothing and exist without a dollar to my name.
I gave it all away – every possession and every penny – entering into a 3-month experiment of non-ownership.
Have I lost my mind?

Exploring the Alabama Hills under the midday sun. Its bright and its hard and these are characteristics I'm not usually fond of but nothing beats the feeling of exploring these ancient rock formations with the majestic Sierra Nevada as your backdrop.

The Turtle (my bus) handled the squirrely ups and downs of the skinny dirt roads like a champ. The original clearance of these old camper vans was designed for this.

Behind every frame is a vision, a team, and a hundred little adjustments.

With budgets big and small, the world in front of the lens is finely curated and crafted by hands in service to a directors vision.

He holds a small handheld device, possibly a light meter, and gazes toward the camera with a focused expression. The background is softly blurred with trees and sunlight. by @matthew.skala

Playing around with some footage from a rare visit to Venice Beach.

Tried an AI app called Studio Lite by MatchTune for a quick music solution. It didn't work very well, but I used some of the hits and beats in a re-mix, which I guess saved me a little bit of time. by @matthew.skala
