“Spire presents a body of work consisting of thirteen text-based pieces that span from 2017 to 2023. What drives his creative hand is his sensory experience of the world: exploring the fusion of diverse influences where he blends elements of music, literature, and himself into a singular narrative.

He has a synesthetic-like creative process that informs the art’s abstract nature. Largely inspired by music, beats guide the hand’s tempo, dissolving lyrics from seminal artists like Erykah Badu or Nas into shapes. Meanwhile, nature-inspired colors breathe life into the compositions, where a green can be reminiscent of when a light shines behind a tree or a pink taking on the flavor quality of a sweet berry.

A unifying thread that underpins each creation is bold experimentation joined with multilayered storytelling. Spire extends a hand through his work, inviting viewers into a spiritual experience where legibility takes a backseat to a rich, visual interplay that derives from a harmonious blend of abstraction, figuration, and color. “
