Hello! As many of you know, I've been in Senegal the past 10 months working with schools in the Louga region as a Peace Corps environment volunteer. In the environment realm, the schools have 2 main challenges: outdoor seating for students & affordable water for gardening. For the first one, a few teachers and I and the town mason developed an eco-bench model that we've crowdfunded and implemented across town. Now, we hope to address the next challenge. The oldest school in town has a well that the school began rehabilitating in 2023. They successfully cleaned the well, installed solar panels, a water tower, and a spigot, but the borehole drilling was incorrectly done. The project is therefore to redrill the borehole and install an agroforestry garden. The school has already committed to purchasing some of the materials, so we are fundraising to cover labor costs for the well refurbishment and labor and materials for the new garden/irrigation system. Peace Corps would normally be able to fund this on its own but due to budget cuts, it is matching donations dollar for dollar. This means we only have to raise $750 for the project to become a reality. Thank you for your support! Cheers, Matthew

REASON BEING

It’s out on all platforms! Link in bio.

This project represents a wonderful year of friendship, cohabitation, and collaboration. @matthew__cap wrote these beautiful lyrics and melodies, and together we brought the music to life.

Congratulations Matthew! We did it brother!!

Personally, this EP is a big milestone. It’s the first project I have ever fully produced, mixed and mastered. I have put in what I expect is over a hundred hours at YouTube university over the course of this project, and I am very proud of how it has turned out.

Special thanks to @reuben_levine @voh.rox and @unsungphilharmonic for your unwavering willingness to listen and offer feedback, and your immense multitude of talents as musicians and as friends. This project wouldn’t be alive without you.

Another huge thanks to @zozochan__ for the amazing album and single cover art! You really captured the energy we had while writing these songs.

Now go listen! Add it to your playlists, and send it to all your friends!

Composed by Matthew Capuano-Rizzo and Nick Luna, mixed and mastered by Nick Luna, with additional guitar work from Reuben Levine.
