I've struggled all week to put this into words..

Earlier this week, I learned that I was selected as the 2026 Coach of the Year by the Delaware State Lacrosse Coaches Association. It is an incredible honor, especially considering the outstanding coaches across our state.

Four years ago, I took over a program with shoes I felt could never be filled. I was fortunate enough to play for and later coach under my predecessor—a Delaware Hall of Fame coach and the founder of this program. His influence on me, this program, and the countless young men who have come through it, is immeasurable. Taking over for someone who meant so much to Polytech Lacrosse was both humbling and challenging.

This recognition doesnt just belong to me, it belongs to my coaching staff because without the coaches who stand beside me every day, this recognition does not happen. They put in the same long hours, have the difficult conversations, make countless sacrifices, and pour their hearts into helping our players become the best versions of themselves on and off the field. I am incredibly grateful to share this journey with them.

Most importantly, thank you to our players and families. You are the reason we do this. Watching our young men grow, overcome challenges, compete for one another, and represent Polytech the right way is the greatest reward any coach could ask for.

This season was special. We set out to elevate the standard, push the program forward, and accomplish things that hadn't been done in years. Through dedication, sacrifice, and belief in one another, this group not only met those goals—they exceeded them.

I am humbled, grateful, and blessed by this recognition. While my name may be on the award, it belongs to every coach, player, mentor, family, and supporter who has been part of this journey.
