POSTS STORIES REELS

🌍 A few weeks on, and we must not let the conversation die down.

Labour’s approval of the Jackdaw gas field is a reckless decision with consequences for our climate, our communities and future generations. The headlines may have moved on, but the climate crisis hasn’t.

From extreme heat and flooding in the UK to rising sea levels in Bangladesh, catastrophic floods in Pakistan, droughts in Senegal, desertification in Nigeria and environmental destruction in Palestine, communities worldwide are already paying the price.

🌱 Working together across local Green Party in Kent, in collaboration with Kent Muslim Greens, we are raising our voices, challenging the government and demanding a genuinely just, renewable energy future.

📢 Share this reel. Keep the conversation alive. Hold the government accountable.

The climate crisis doesn’t wait for headlines to return. Neither should we.

Utterly heartbroken by the news of Patrick Stewart.

I grew up watching Star Trek and the way I view the world and the hopeful possibilities of the future, was shaped by the lessons I learned through that franchise, a franchise that Patrick Stewart is, and always will be, a cornerstone of.

His portrayal of Jean-Luc Picard was one of hope, of eternal optimism, and belief in a brightness that we may not experience ourselves, but is entirely possible, of an inherent goodness in all people. It was a reminder that however bleak things are, you can not give in to despair.

He was a legend on the screen, but more than that, he was a legend off.

He lived what he portrayed, as a proud activist for humanity, for acceptance, for empathy, and for being a generally lovely human being.

The world has lost a beacon, but in the spirit of Patrick Stewart and Jean-Luc Picard, it is on all of us to make sure that his legacy shines even brighter. by @matthewbroadley

As news comes out that Meta has begun suspending the accounts of Democratic nominees just before their mid-term elections, this is your semi-regular reminder that the Facebook account of Zack Polanski, the leader of the Green Party of England and Wales, has still not been reinstated.

It was taken down just before the recent Holborn & St Pancras by-election. by @matthewbroadley

I accidentally deleted this post that I put up a month ago 🤦‍♀️. Such a memorable time with amazing people. These are the moments worth sharing again!

So proud to stand alongside my fellow Green Party members, each one of them bringing their own passion and dedication @feslkhan @matthewbroadley @green_naser_abby & @felixgansyer . A special mention to our youngest councillor, Hibaaq Aden @awakendhibs — so lovely to see the next generation stepping up! by @matthewbroadley

As Israel prepares a major military escalation in the West Bank (Occupied Palestinian Territories), it is important to remember that the right to resist occupation in enshrined in international law, however much the "West" and Israel tries to deny occupied persons those rights.

UN Resolutions such as General Assembly Resolution 45/130 explicitly state the legitimacy of struggling against foreign occupation by all available means, including armed struggle.

Know this before the media ramp up allegations that this was unprovoked. History matters, not misinformation. by @matthewbroadley

Approving Jackdaw is a false promise.
It's a distraction from what is really needed.
It's the consequence of corporate lobbying by the oil and gas industry who want to make a quick buck at our expense.
We need more investment in renewables and to break our obsession with oil and gas.

Only then can we start bringing down bills.

*MEDWAY, it’s time to RESIST PALANTIR in the NHS!!*
🚨Join the People vs Palantir - International Day of Action
🏥MPSC will be protesting outside Medway Maritime Hospital
🗓️Thurs 1st Oct 11am-1pm

*Palantir’s tech tools* are currently being *used by Israel to continue the genocide of the Palestinians* in the West Bank and Gaza. Palantir also works with ICE to track and surveil migrants in the US.
In 2023, NHS England awarded a £330m contract to Palantir for a new federated data platform. This contract includes a “break clause” in Feb 2027 where the NHS could end this partnership.
