The South Glen Shiel Ridge and Cluanie Inn, 14.02.2024.

We traversed the seven Munros of this ridge a few days earlier. The route had been on my list for maybe a decade, so it was an absolute dream to do it in full winter conditions in a single day. After 30km, 2,400m ascent and 14 hours of walking, we reached the Cluanie Inn. We’d missed the last bus to get back to the car, so gratefully accepted a room for the night. We slept very well!

Sunset from Helvellyn, 14.01.2024.

I’ve never seen the mountain air as clear as it was on Sunday. I felt like I could have reached out and touched fells that were kilometres away. We did Nethermost Pike’s East Ridge, descended Striding Edge then ascended Swirral Edge for the sunset. More photos to come!
