Another fascinating week of small business and retail developments in Jacksonville and the greater Northeast Florida region at the @jaxbizjournal

We followed the loss of another area brewery with @voodoojax 's closure in San Marco (amid the parent companys' sale and capital loss for crowdfunded investors) as well as provided an important development in @petparadiseresort shareholder derivative suit against the Crane Group.

As to new retail business, we chatted with @thelittlegym new franchisees in Yulee/Fernandina and broke news of Wokhey fast casual wok, open now in the Southside, @cafecitojax coming to @pearlhospitalitygroup 's updated and upgraded @bellwether_jax in downtown Jax later in the fall and an @nrgadventurepark.us on its way to Arlington. by @matthewddenis

I haven't posted in a few days, but I want to highlight the work being done in Jacksonville's Eastside by @lift_jax and @flavemainstreet

When I first arrived at the @jaxbizjournal , we followed LIFT's work to reopen the historic Debs Grocery Store to alleviate not only a food desert, but financial and occupational divestment with a @vystarcreditunion and @firstcoastymca upstairs.

Two years later, LIFT JAX continues this work @utwjax . Renovated over seven years by Columbia Ventures in a purposeful alliance with Eastside residents, today the Union Terminal Warehouse and organizations like Florida Avenue Main Street are making tangible progress to rejuvenate Jacksonville's historic Out East neighborhood.
