Reflecting on what a beautiful day was had here yesterday in #asburypark for #pride. The city was filled with thousands of people spreading love, joy, community and oneness. A much needed feeling in today’s world.

I was fortunate enough to begin the afternoon watching the parade from a new friend’s home where a young queer person was experiencing their very first pride. Listening to them react and seeing their smile and heart open reminded me of why we do this every year. It was such a gift.

I want to thank all of those who came before me that paved the way for all of us to live openly and without fear. I want to thank my family for never ever making me feel like I wasn’t loved. And my friends old and new for accepting all of me.

Here’s to never being silent and continuing to pave the way for the next generation.

Huge thank you to @jerseypride_ @cityofasburyparknj by @matthewdren
