I am beyond grateful for #dirigostate2026 ! Since my delegate year in 2023 I have returned to the program that showed me what who the person I want to be is: a kind leader, an educator, and a representative of all that I believe in.

This past week marked my third year as a counselor for the Dirigo State program and my first year as a head town counselor and assistant media and pr specialist. At first, I wasn’t sure if I was going to make my mark in these new roles but with the help of some incredible people I am confident that I did the best I could.

Thank you to Kristin Merrill for being my guide through the chaotic world of media and for being one of my greatest friends.

Thank you to Matthew Dos Santos and Kate Higgins for being the best Junior Counselors. With both of you I figured out what it means to be a team and how to truly develop life long friendships.

Thank you to all the staff that helped put on a great program this year!

And finally thank you to all my delegates. From day 1 I knew that you were a special group and you showed that to me every day. From elections and legislation to just plain old fun, you gave me the best town I could ask for.

Thank you from your #dirigostate2026 Counselor of the year. 🫰 by @matthewewy
