Finding the right words for this is tough. After a taste of freedom in remission, learning that my cancer has relapsed has been devastating for me and those closest.

I’m now beginning the next chapter of my journey—starting CAR-T cell therapy, with hope for a lasting remission. I plan to document as much of this experience as I can, in the hopes it helps others who may face this road too.

Thank you all for the continued love and support. It meant everything to have a break from cancer this summer, but cancer—you’re not invited back next year! by @matthewispicer

“Hi I’m Matt. I’ve had treatment for diffuse large B-cell lymphoma. Here are three things I learned that may help if you're going through lymphoma.

To anyone in a similar situation, remember there is a community beside you, offering hope and encouragement for the journey ahead.

September is Blood Cancer Awareness Month and I’m supporting Lymphoma Action’s Let’s talk lymphoma campaign. Want to hear more about my lymphoma story? Click the link.”

A year ago today, I was admitted to hospital to begin my stem cell transplant. I knew I wanted to continue sharing my journey and raise awareness about lymphoma.

A year on, I’m incredibly grateful to have been given the opportunity to share my story and my experiences.

Thank you to @lymphoma_action & @dorset_echo for giving me a platform to share my journey, raise awareness, and hopefully help others who may be going through something similar. by @matthewispicer

“I’ve never had the best memory but something you don’t forget is the moment you hear the words “you have cancer”. I was given my full diagnosis of stage 4 diffuse large B-cell lymphoma and was told treatment would start the following week.

I found that during treatment my thoughts became a lot lighter because I went into survival mode and my focus was on treatment, listening to advice from the medical team, sleeping, and simply getting better. It was after when my thoughts became overwhelming and I can only assume this is because it was when I was able to process everything I had been through.

Something this journey has taught me is that we know our bodies better than we realise. I knew something wasn’t right, but I never thought it was cancer. Although I would never want to go through this again, I am no longer angry towards my cancer diagnosis and am now grateful for the perspective on life that it has given me.

After everything I have been through, and with the amazing support I have received, I wish to give back and assure others going through a cancer diagnosis that they are not alone. To anyone in a similar situation, remember there is a community beside you, offering hope and encouragement for the journey ahead.”

As we get ready for Blood Cancer Awareness Month, Matt shares his lymphoma story. From his diagnosis to experiences of chemotherapy, CAR-T cell therapy, a stem cell transplant and more – click 'find a post link' in our link in bio to read his article.

It was a close call though 🥵

I’ve always appreciated the importance of fitness, but after the last few years of cancer treatment, it’s changed the way I approach exercise. I used to prioritise strength training over cardio, but now I want to maintain a more balanced approach, giving both equal importance! by @matthewispicer

Results are in, and my 9-month scan has come back clear, I’m still cancer-free, baby!!!!!

I’m now in uncharted territory on my cancer journey, and I honestly never thought I’d get to say that. None of this would have been possible without my incredible donor.

As always, if you’re interested in registering as a stem cell donor, please check out it @dkms_uk and @anthonynolancharity by @matthewispicer
