I design a lot of t-shirts throughout the year and that means loads of concept sketches and ideas never see the light of day. I’ve thought about this one for a while and wanted to make it available to anyone who needs a little reminder sometimes. If you want to be more subtle, a version with just the dove is also an option, with several color variations. I priced these low because the message is more important than any financial gain. Tomorrow night’s poster for @chrisstapleton in Bristow! Riffing on the Jiffy Lube Live theme, I came up with a vintage-feeling oil can label (love the old designs on those) and wrapped it on my own 3D can to get all the wrap and perspectives correct. (You can’t just step and repeat the same can, there’s subtle stuff going on to make it look right). I also enjoyed rotating this thing in space, so check out the slides with a more pop art feel. Thank you @redstarmerch for letting me pursue these fun ideas! #chrisstapleton #bristow #jiffylubelive taken in Jiffy Lube Live, Bristow Va by @matthewjay

Check it out, London! Here’s the poster you’re gonna see if you attend Van Morrison’s residency at the new British Airways Arc (first ever residency at this venue!) This is truly, truly an unforgettable opportunity to have made this print AND to create CD and vinyl album covers for Van’s latest album. If you wanna see some early concepts take a look at slide 2. Thank you Joe and Chris at Exile Productions for having me ✌️#vanmorrison #poster #britishairwaysarc #london taken in British Airways ARC by @matthewjay

Poster art (and tee) for Dave Matthews Band and their Labor Day weekend shows at the Gorge in Washington State. The band is selling this as a pre-order item that you can purchase online, with all net proceeds supporting wildfire response efforts following the Spokane wildfires (innovia.org/wildfire-response). I’ll post the direct product links in my bio. I’ve loved this state for 11 years, and I’m well aware that wildfires are now a part of living here and this level of devastation could happen to any of us. Sometimes we feel helpless in times like these, but maybe a little bit from a lot of us will make an impact. #davematthewsband #dmb #thegorge #spokane #spokanewildfire taken in The Gorge Amphitheatre by @matthewjay

Fan art! Drew a t-shirt for Conan O’Brien’s band, @thevigodasband. There’s a very slim chance he’ll see it, but it was fun to make. My sister and I used to watch Barney Miller and Conan on summer vacation nights. A double dose of Abe Vigoda! #thevigodas #conanobrien #teamcoco by @matthewjay
