an atmospheric ambient guitar summoning edit | “can you feel the vedic field?” Hey folks. Back with another ambient music edit - it’s been a while since I wrote an atmospheric guitar piece like this. It’s got a decent twang and evokes early morning vistas, Lynchian winds and wide open plains. Something’s a foot in this ambient world that’s for sure. Been meditating a lot recently, some of the longest sessions I’ve ever done, it seems easier nowadays somehow. I’m less keen to come out of the unified field once I’m swimming about in there. The world looks weird and fresh when I do though, and I come away with a heightened sense of calm and a feeling of deep renewal. Anyways, I hope you like this new one. Click the link to view the full 3’45” version. I wish you peace, safety and certainty. Gloop on, my friends. #ambient #dreamymusic #originalmusic #ambientguitar #cinematicguitar by @matthewjsaunders_

nearly 2 minutes of ambient piano (it’s guitar) | “you’re the operator of your own bliss field” Here’s almost a couple of minutes of guitar I caught in the looper and it came out sounding like piano. Weird how that happens. So then I improvised a solo over it and “you’re the operator of your own bliss field” became a thing. It’s so hot in the UK at the moment, going to have to get up super early to record these videos for a bit, the heat in the studio is unbearable. Nope, A/C is not a thing here. I wish you peace, safety and certainty. Gloop on, my friends. #ambient #guitar #piano #originalmusic #ambientguitar by @matthewjsaunders_

1.5 minutes of soaring abstracted ambient guitar | “levitating for the accomplished master lvl 1” I looped my guitar and ruined it until it sounded amazing! Sitting on the floor conjuring sounds from fragments of sampled guitar parts is one of my favourite things to do — you never quite know what’s going to happen or where it might take you. This one is a particularly rumblesome piece with fractured fragments of ambient light pinging off surfaces and into your ears and eyes. I’m using a Blooper and a Ditto mainly here with tonnes of delay and some reverb, the odd bit of pitch shifting and a whole load of inter-dimensional guitar ruination. Yeah. I wish you peace, safety and certainty. Gloop on, my friends. #ambient #ambientguitar #guitar #dreamymusic #originalmusic by @matthewjsaunders_

connecting minds with a heavy dose of psychedelia and a guitar | "two chords and a bad attitude" This second short is an excerpt of a 15 minute psych workout which you can view by clicking the link. From the screaming feedback that this piece starts with (or at least the full version does!), you know you're in for a heck of a noisy psychedelic guitar ride. The amp is cranked and the studio temperature was a stinking 35 degrees with no breeze. I'm improvising over some looper-caught chords which later in the piece turn increasingly gnarley and unpredictable. I especially like the play-out section at the end where I'm manipulating them and bringing in more abstract elements. It's a long one this one, but it is not dull. Plug your 'phones in, kick back and travel to another plane of sonics with me. I wish you peace, safety and certainty. solo guitar for unnatural swellings | "major meander for electric guitar" This short is a second excerpt of a longer piece you can view by clicking the link. So you may have guessed by the fact that I'm wearing all the same clothes as in the previous few vids, that these were done in a single session, and you'd be right. This is an improv that I often do just to get the brain and fingers in gear before I try to come up with a piece. But I enjoy these so much i thought I'd start posting them whenever I feel it's a good one and I've hit upon a nicely flowing moment (and I remembered to press the record button). So here you go, a fluid electric guitar improv with a bit of abstraction and a bit of bite. I wish you peace, safety and certainty. guitarist forgets what plane of consciousness he's on | "special sound for master meditators" Abstract psychedelic plane travelling — traversing the unified field with a guitar and a looper pedal. A tumbling, writhing, cacophony of guitar special sound to help you meditate deeply (warning: only suitable for expert level meditators, minimum 5 instances of transcendence into the unified field). This is excerpt from a longer version which you can view by cicking the link. Cranking up the psych and the abstract noise for this one, pinned down by a cycling, broken, atmospheric guitar chord figure. I really love this one and feel it's pointing me down a psychedelic ambient path I'm really going to enjoy. I hope you do too. I wish you peace, safety and certainty.
