“Quiet”, Matthew Kusche

This is my recent commission from the City of Las Vegas. “Hope”, a public art sculpture for the ‘3 on Main’ project on Main St & Colorado Ave. I invited the community to help me convey a portion of the concept of the sculpture by contributing their own personal words and writing them on the back of the piece.
I met Matthew while doing this community engagement. He is a neighbor of the area.

first question:
_ What is your name?

_ Matthew Kusche.

second question:
_ Could you describe in one word, what it was like for you to go through the pandemic?

_ Quiet.

___

title: Hope
artist: Vezun
year: 2025
medium: Steel and primer
location: The corner of S Main St and E Colorado Ave.

Thank you to the City of Las Vegas and the Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs, and to everyone who donated their time.
