Tour of America’s Dairyland11 days of racing in front of the home town crowd always is the biggest privilege. So grateful to come away with zero crashes and my heart full.Massive thank you to the boys @butcherboxcycling for giving me this opportunity, it means the absolute world to me. The boys were able to secure 🥈 on Day 3 which set the pace for the rest of the week. Super happy with the legs, while I wasn’t able to snag a top 10 for myself. I can be very content with the level that I raced at. So many times trying to get the break to establish or spending a few laps solo trying to bridge to the break. I gave everything I had and for that I’m grateful. Time to spend some time in Milwaukee before I head back west to chase some high mountain dirt. Until next time 🫡 by @matthewmke

Tulsa ToughIt was quite the fast turn around going from Unbound straight into Tulsa. Complete opposite ends of the spectrum when it comes to racing. Nothing to write home about. Just mentally was pretty exhausted from the previous week still. The legs came around on Cry Baby so was able to give that one a decent crack. Just don’t have that pop to finish it off in the finale. Unbound 2026 I told myself numerous times that I will never come back to Emporia for this race but I really want a clean run at this race.Mile 15-17 provided the most mud I’ve ever seen. My chain wouldn’t stay on my bike but after roughly 15 minutes I got it back on and I was rolling again… about 4 miles down the road I get hit with even more mud, this time it was worse. Spent another 40ish minutes getting my chain to stay on my bike (lesson learned, getting a chain guide). Multiple trips down to a near by creek finally had me rolling again with 190ish miles to go. Rode through cow 💩 , handlebar deep water, flowing rivers, torrential down pours, but one thing was certain was that I was finishing regardless if I wanted too. It’s tough to say now but I’ll most likely be back next year for what hopefully will be a clean run because I know I’m capable of a super solid result here. This spring has been completely different from past years. It’s hard sometimes to take a step back to really understand myself as a rider when all I’ve known is just race as much as possible. I’ve found it to be a very vital piece in finding the potential that I know I’m capable of. It’s to no surprise that I’ve turned the majority of my focus to gravel. Something about learning such a different discipline has made me fall that much more in love with this sport. The pure emotions that come out during a really intense gravel race is something that cannot be emulated the same way in a road race. So immensely grateful for a healthy body and the ability to push myself to the limits. Unbound, Tulsa, and Tour of Americas Dairyland. P24 at BWR CaliforniaHad some time to digest my race and figure out the good/ bad. I’m obviously not stoked about the lack of legs on the day but I made due with what I had. Huge thanks to @dt_gk5 for feeding me out there as well.No excuses, just didn’t have it but I can smile and know even on my absolute worst day I’m still faster than I was last year. All focus turns to getting the engine tune up for Unbound.
