It’s done. The manuscript for ‘100’ is officially finished! 🥹
I’ll be honest: I thought I could “side quest” writing the story of our journey to Sonos. I was wrong! It was one of the hardest things I’ve done 😂. But knowing this might help someone else’s journey (or be read by my great-grandchildren one day) made every late night worth it.

Miami, you’ve been a blessing🌴

I came here to give back, but the community gave me so much more in return. The energy of this city is unmatched, but the people are the real story. I’ve met world-class builders and leaders, but more importantly, I met people who lead with heart and want to see everyone win.

At some point, it’s tougher to remain silent than to speak. It breaks my heart to see the polarization, the fighting, the hate, the noise that doesn’t add or subtract but only distracts. Distracts from the result of all the noise; the result being hate.

One thing I know: God is love. And as I have decided to follow Him in everything, I choose love. To love Him, and to love my neighbor as myself. To even love those who see me as the enemy. If God would not even spare His Son for me, the least I can do is love.

I will shine that light as bright as I can, and with all I’ve got, through all I do. And I know that darkness cannot overcome it. by @mattiasscheek

Can hardly believe it, but I laid down my position as a director developing tech for Sonos - the company that acquired Mayht a little over 3 years ago. I’m still doing some of the fun stuff for a few hours per week, but I decided that it was time to move on from my position as director. Nothing bad happened, it’s just time. I’m driven by dreaming bigger than I can handle myself, and to keep doing that, I needed to step away from what I am comfortable at doing. Only God knows what’s next, I’m all ears and looking forward to step into the next chapter.

The book is still coming btw, in the meantime you can read a part of the story (again 🤪) in the latest @modmodnl, the most beautiful men’s lifestyle magazine out there. Big thanks to my day one brother @bensouv for dressing me in @ziyelboutique for this shoot.

We all have something unique, something we bring to the table someone else needs. It can take a while to figure out what that is, but never stop or settle for a shape or form that was not made for you - go get what’s yours 🏆.

While washing my car, a kid comes up to me. ‘Excuse me sir, is that your car?’, ‘yes’, I replied. ‘I’m not racist, but a black man, in that car, that’s not how it’s supposed to be’.
I’m grateful for freedom, for knowing who I am, for being in a place where untrue words can’t touch me anymore.
I want to encourage you to not let anyone or anything or even yourself enslave you by thoughts, words, or anything else that takes you away from living in freedom.

Like God said: ‘And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free’.

Swipe right for a previous car that I drove that nobody cared about, but was just as fun to me (mostly because of the adventures and great company ❤️).

This is my prayer - to be like a tree planted by the water. Why? I want to be next to the water so I’ll never be thirsty. I want to be like a tree, to stand firm and be unmovable. Storms will come, but I know the position my roots are holding on to. #Psalms1 #IShallNotBeMoved by @mattiasscheek
