Hi. DONKEY is now online, with a feature on @shortoftheweek and a @vimeo Staff Pick. It’s the most sincere and weirdly personal thing I’ve ever made and I hope you enjoy it.

So many talented people worked their asses off on this and I feel incredibly lucky. I know it’s just a little short but whenever I make anything, I am genuinely like “how did I get all these people to do this?” Anyway, I think it’s time to go make a feature.

Starring @drujohnston @shagan33 @ruhataslimi @nelsonkcheng and David Schroeder

It’s my birthday, so I’m engaging in an unabashed act of “self-love” aka self-promotion. I have a new website. It’s got a new design, lots of new work, and a contractually-obligated picture of me “on set”. Check it out. Maybe hire me for something. Or simply wish me happy birthday. I just want attention. by @mattkazman

Today our dear sweet cat Owlette passed away. 2 years ago she walked into our lives and made herself at home. She meowed like a geriatric chainsmoker and smacked you if you got too close but then she would lie on you and nuzzle her head in your face while you were working and let you hold her like a baby and purr REALLY loud. She had amazing vibes and she really opened our world. 2 weeks ago we found out that she had liver cancer, and while her health rapidly declined, her personality continued to shine. Even today, she was like “hellooo can you please kill me now?” in a way that was honestly very funny. The vets said that she had probably been sick for a while, since cats try to hide their illnesses until it’s too late, and maybe I’m just telling myself this to feel better, but I think that once she realized she was sick, she decided it was time to find someone to pamper her for her final stretch. In that sense, she totally got my ass. Thank you Owlette for choosing me and making me a cat person. by @mattkazman
