For me, this photo is everything.

These are two of my oldest friends. We started our first band together before any of us could even play our instruments. We had absolutely no idea what we were doing, but what we lacked in talent, we made up for in unbridled ambition.

Revisiting Phonograph after all these years has been an incredible experience, but what has become even more apparent is that the record was never really the point. It has always been about the people.

Over the last few shows, we’ve reconnected with old friends, family, caught up on years of life, and even watched some of them bring their own kids to their very first concert. Freaking surreal…

Twenty-one years later, I’m so grateful to still have people in my life who love, support, and cheer me on, and I strive to do the same for them.

We hit the stage in Macon in about an hour and close it out in Florida tomorrow. I’m not ready for it to end.

Thank you to everyone who’s been part of the journey. 🖤 by @mattmegrue

…aaaand that’s a wrap.

Four shows. Countless hugs. Old friends. New friends. Singalongs. Phonograph on vinyl. And getting a chance to rediscover these songs all over again.

We couldn’t have asked for a better way to celebrate 21 years of Phonograph.

Thank you to every venue, every band that shared the stage, everyone who traveled, and everyone who spent a night with us. It was a great reminder of why we started doing this in the first place.

As for what’s next…we honestly don’t know where we go from here, yet. But after this weekend, one thing does feel certain…

This isn’t the end.

Until next time. 🖤
