Happy Birthday Sidney Harth! Today, he would have been 101. When Teresa passed in 2010, almost to the day one year before Mr. Harth passed, he asked me to arrange this piece, from Kreisler’s arrangement of Melodie from Gluck’s Orfeo, for string quartet. When he passed, I made sure we had a string orchestra play it. Thank you to my friend @trent0422 and the Salem Chamber Orchestra for this memorable performance of the arrangement last spring.
I think of you every time I play the violin, Mr. Harth. Thanks for everything! by @mattpickart

Big congrats to Dror and his amazing summer teacher, my friend Nicole Kovaluk! As a freshman in high school he will be playing concertmaster of @cmswebsteru top youth orchestra, the Young People’s Symphonic Orchestra conducted by Patrick Jackson. I’m super proud of you Dror and can’t wait to see where your music takes you this year!

I’m having an amazing time back on the road with @therockorchestra !

Strings break all the time. Usually our guitarist Chris’s.

We have 27 strings between the five of us, so statistically speaking, something is eventually going to break.

This time, it was Squid’s fiddle.

And unlike every other time, there happened to be a concert violinist in the audience who was less than an hour away from playing Symphony Hall.

@mattpickart fixed the fiddle while the show kept going, then joined us for a song and got his warmup in a little early.

Huge thanks to Matt for truly saving the show. 🎻🦑

I never imagined that the first time I would play Paganini Cantabile, would be getting to record and perform it with an amazing Italian guitarist @alessandrobenedettelli in Tuscany… I am so grateful. Grazie mille Alessandro per tutto!!! Not only is Alessandro a beautiful guitarist, musician, and person, he is also one of the region’s foremost recording engineers with his work at @sidebstudio

Please stay tuned for our Paganini recording release later this fall on all streaming platforms.
Tonight we will perform Paganini, Sarasate, Bonfá, Ellington, and lots of Piazzolla at @museocasarossaximenes in picturesque Castiglione della Pescaia for @a.gi.mus_grosseto at 21:15. We hope you can join us for my last night in Italy this summer. Thank you to dear friends @gloriamazzi74 and @clacava65 for connecting us and programming this wonderful duet for Agimus Grosseto!
