Been practicing coloring a lot lately. Took these old frames from a shoot back home with @graveycountry to practice on.

This was shot on the Sony FX30 with a Sigma 18-50mm, colored in Davinci Resolve.

If you told my younger self that one day a photo I shot would end up on a billboard, there’s no chance I would’ve believed you.

I always thought growing up would feel slower than this. I thought I would notice when one season ended and another began. Instead, life moved quietly, and suddenly the years that once felt endless now live mostly in memory.

The Bible says life is a mist. Here for a moment, then gone. Lately that truth has been sitting with me.

One moment I am a toddler standing in a hospital room while my sister fights leukemia. I do not fully understand what is happening, but I remember the feeling. The lights. The fear. The way the Lord held our family together.

Then suddenly I am in my parents’ kitchen, bouncing a basketball on the floor, sunlight through the window, time feeling endless.

Forgive me, I am a storyteller at heart, and my mind wanders through moments like old films playing back in pieces. Practices and games. AAU tournaments. Bus rides staring out the window with music in one ear. Lockers slamming in crowded hallways. Friday nights that felt bigger than they really were. Sitting in cars with friends talking about a future we thought we could clearly see.

Rushed mornings, long practices, weekends that felt like freedom the second the final bell rang. Snow days like gifts. Summer afternoons that blurred together. We lived fully inside those moments without realizing how quickly they would become memories.

It is strange how fast it all passes. One moment you are a kid with no awareness of time. The next you are thirty, looking back, wondering how something so full moved so fast.

Life really is a mist. And every ordinary moment mattered more than I ever realized. God was present in all of it.

As I step into my thirties, what I feel most is gratitude. Gratitude to Christ for all He has done and continues to do in my life.

He is sufficient. by @mattsilveria
