Forever chasing the dream… And the fish.

I love helping people understand this perception of mine. It’s not just the fish. It’s the people we meet along the way that we can teach something to, or learn something from. It’s the fish stories. It’s the mixture of different personalities, and cultures. It’s new friends and good laughs. It’s therapeutic, and calming. It’s the memories. It’s one of the things I love the most. ☑️

We only got a blackfin and a barracuda on the troll in about two hours so we set out deeper to drop for black belly rose fish.

While we were dropping we got swarmed by mahi and started pitching baits and pulling them in one by one. We let a lot of them go and kept what we needed for 5 us.

I love going with @gradyfulfishingcharters because we can always go drop for Rosie’s or use live bait if trolling is slow and fill up the cooler with fresh fish.

I’m sure you all know by now that I’m a topwater frog connoisseur, so when scum frog released one of their new hollow body frogs called the “Big Foot 2” I had to throw it and see what was up.

They upgraded the weight so it’s a little bit heavier(which I love because I can get across larger/wider canals.) and the new hook design allows the lure to collapse when the fish bites down on the body.
It has a self draining system that keeps the frog from being too heavy and holding water.

For this spot I chose this specific frog (the bluegill) because there are a lot of bluegill in these particular canals. They are likely a top choice of food in this canal system. This technique of choosing the right bait is called “match the hatch.” That is a fishing term that means selecting a bait or lure that closely resembles the natural food source (like insects or baitfish).

After a full day of fishing on @gradyfulfishingcharters I side quested when we got back to the dock. As soon as I saw them roll in the middle of this small channel in the back cut where the boat is parked I knew it was game time. 🔥🚀

She’s not just my “catch of a lifetime” or my “sweet angel” anymore… Now she’s also my gorgeous wife! ❤️💍😍🥰🙏🏻

I easily could’ve told you that this was the worst year of my life after losing my dad in January. It’s been a very tough year for me, but getting to marry my best friend after 8.5 years was what kept me going. It gave me something to look forward to. I missed him so much but I know he’d be so happy and proud. He would’ve loved to see our families all gather to celebrate us and our love.

Mom looked stunning and I’m pretty sure that us getting married was possibly the best day she’s had since you’ve been gone. It was definitely the best day of my life that much I know for sure! 🥺🫡
