I pivoted my photography direction to bridal and beyond in the last few months. It’s been a slow pivot, and to be honest, I’ve felt a bit unsure about it.

That’s the whole joy of change.

I tried focusing entirely on outdoor creative and fashion portraits — think of swimwear by the beach, which was my main photography style at the start of this year. While I enjoyed empowering other people doing this through capturing photos, I felt I had hit a brick wall.

I never considered doing weddings and bridal editorials. I never considered doing maternity and couples photoshoots. I didn’t want to “be like the rest”.

Little did I know, you can do that and still stand out. I’m grateful I’ve already found my distinct style — film simulations, candid vibes, and nothing but good moments.

Sure, wedding and bridal photography pays good money, but that was only my secondary reason for transitioning. My main reasons were that I had hit writer’s block in photography form and that wedding, maternity, couples, and bridal photography will never be replaced by AI. Ever. Creative portraits can’t either, but that’s not entirely bulletproof.

So my message to you? Embrace change, embrace discomfort, embrace uncertainty. Don’t fight it. Try, fail, try again, until something works. It could take 10,000 tries. You could be only 10 rejections away to getting that one “yes” that elevates your business or career.

I’m still doing creative portraits outside the bridal editorial vibes, just not as often and with limited availability. I still enjoy them a lot.

With that said, I’m still taking bookings for 2026, though they’re getting booked out quickly. Let’s chat!

Do you prefer colour or monochrome portraits?

I love both equally, but monochrome fits the tone perfectly. These were taken in Belgrade, in March last year, during the political protests. Yes, I was there, and it was intense for a foreigner like me.

Fun fact too, in the second photo, just one hour after it was captured, the structure above us collapsed. It was the perfect metaphor of how unstable the Serbian government was at the time.

Really missing the beach editorials so bad. I would say this was taken in summer — it was actually in the middle of winter, and we were freezing our toes off.
