Hi. in an effort to get out of the dead al gore riddim I put myself in here’s a sacrificial selfie inspired by a friend. I’m a father, partnered to Caitlin, settler and artist of mixed European and un known descent on the unceded territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm, Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw and səlilwətaɬ peoples in “vancouver” i have lived in 5 countries and moved over 69 times. I identify as a nomad. I have been making music, creating space for artists to be free and holding space in the form of venues (The Toast Collective, Astorinos, Red Gate, The Rattle) live events series (Quiet City, Fake Jazz) multi genre festivals and dance focused events for 30 years. I have performed as steppin’ razor solo or in collaboration for 18 years, in groups Nam Shub, The Ecstatic Volunteer Orchestra, Naptime, Fuktek, New Age Lingo, Plantlife, and Soma alongside and with many beautiful and talented humans. Djing since the late 90’s under the aliases mattyfromlife, BIG FEELINGS(duo with Tusk) Selector Big Feeling, Pear Selector and Mr. Think (first dj name)
I am an anarchist socialist. ACAB. LAND BACK.

Originally released in 2003 on CDR, FUKTEK was Matty and Chris. Written and produced on desktop in East Van using frooty loops, acid and sound forge. This was my first foray into noise and experimental music. We only played online festivals that I can’t remember. Released as FUKTEK vs Gnosis, a split with a friend of ours. We were all obsessed by black metal, psychedelia, spiritualism and nature. Link in bio. by @mattyhasears
