“ Stop overthinkin’, these professors can’t f*** with you “ ~ Oh The Yard I remember the lil boy who use to dream of going to The Yard, the lil boy who went to every home game. That same boy enrolled and who knew the story that was ahead of him. He wanted to throw in the towel many of times but he remembered Ecclesiastes 9:11. Changed majors 3 times didn’t know what he wanted but he wanted a refund & to be at The Yard. Had to go to school during a pandemic.. online courses & working did not go together. He saw everyone around him graduate and leave The Yard but him and he felt like “ always a bridesmaids never a bride” you know always at graduation but never the graduate? He Finally got himself together and His Papa passed away in 2022. That little boy heart was so broken, he ran away from The Yard and hide from his friends. Came back to The Yard, Cheered again, got the internship of his dreams and then his Nana passed away a month before graduation. Now you tell me about strength and faith to keep on pushing. You would think he would’ve gave up and walked away again, trust he wanted TO but GOD! Every Financial Aid storm, Academic storm, depression storm, grief storm HAD TO PASS. It took some real praying, trusting & crying to know that he’ll be alright after while. That lil boy is ME, now a grown man working at Walt Disney World and a UAPB Alumni. Shouting & praising about everything I endured during undergrad really built and mold me for the better! The Yard, The Real Yard Thank you for sooo many memories & life lesson. Thank you for the life long friendships I Love my UAPB family!🤞🏾 by @mauri.kg
