Tomorrow is the MLB Draft.So I wanted to share one of my favorite stories from the podcast.Mauricio Dubón told me that when he came out of high school, he negotiated with the Red Sox himself because he didn’t have an advisor.The scout asked him what he wanted.Mauricio said $500,000.The scout called back.“We only have $300,000.”Mauricio said yes.Then the scout called again.“We only have $150,000.”Mauricio said yes again.Then…“We only have $100,000.”And finally…“We can do $75,000. Part of the journey is the end…Thank you, Houston, for giving me a home when I needed it most. You embraced a kid from Honduras and made him feel like he belonged.
