Title: ,,Game Of The Gods “- ,,The Triumph of Hermes”

In this work, I bring Hermes , the god of movement and strategy into the modern world of rugby, connecting the ancient with the contemporary. I see the rugby field as a modern arena where speed combined with strength and instinct come together to create a moment of timeless action.

At its core, the work is about a golden victory: the desire to compete and ultimately rise above the opposition. Hermes becomes a symbol of that pursuit, combining the spirit of the ancient gods with the ambition of the modern athlete.

This work is painted with oil paint on canvas
and took me over a month to make.

,,The Icarian Mind.“ - (oil on canvas)

I have always wondered what it would look like to fall through the vast universe of thought.

To descend into the subconscious mind and witness all the hidden information we do not consciously grasp in ordinary life.

This fall reminded me of the mythological moment of Icarus, who fell from the sky after reaching too close to the light.

With this painting, I tried to capture that sensation: a fall through inner space, between ambition and revelation, surrounded by ethereal light, symbolic fragments, and the mysterious architecture of the mind.

[Unfinished Self Portrait.]

In this painting I tried to capture as what I assume is my inner presence, the look, the energy the thoughtful mind that can be sensed through the eyes and the expression of the hands - the tool of the creator. I have been inspired by expressionistic painters such as ,,Egon Schiele,” since he is also similar to me and my art in some way, he captured his muses without a filter, only raw expressions were captured on canvas. This is what frightened his contemporaries, but he only captured reality and he was misunderstood as most artists were and still are.
Also I experimented with silver floral line-work around the figure and a small depiction of a crest on the top left corner which resembles royalty and dignity. I’m happy to have made this work since this helps me to reflect on my identity and understand deeper parts of my psyche. (Oil on canvas). - 2026 by @max.montrell

“The Silent Heiress”

The pearls and white collar suggest nobility and purity, but the expression carries silence, restraint, and hidden thought. Like an old Dutch portrait seen through a dream, she appears not fully present, but still watching. (Oil on canvas) by @max.montrell
