Growing up surrounded by film, music, and painting, Max developed an instinctive understanding of rhythm, atmosphere, and composition that continues to define his work today.After years working across major productions, including The Crown, Wonka, and Fast & Furious, Max went on to study cinematography at the National Film and Television School, fully dedicating himself to crafting cinematic and character-driven imagery.A natural collaborator and committed team player, Max brings both creative sensitivity and technical precision to every production he joins. "I wanted the lighting to feel naturalistic but sculpted. Textured, messy, dirty and dimensional. I wanted to create a world that feels like a pressure cooker. "Rather than flooding spaces, I localised light sources to create depth and shadow. It was a real challenge to do this at the same time as allowing for long developing takes and giving the actors freedom to move around. Bree is layered and complex; the lighting needed similar dimensionality. The atmosphere was essential.
