Can a water-damaged camera lens actually be repaired?

That’s what Max Adams came to KEH to find out. @max_madeit

Max Adams brought water-damaged camera gear to KEH to find out what our repair experts would say.

The answer wasn’t as simple as “let’s fix it.”

Once water gets inside camera gear, corrosion can begin affecting components that look perfectly fine on the outside.

And even if a repair gets the gear working again today, that doesn’t mean it will stay reliable tomorrow.

Once water gets inside camera gear, corrosion can begin affecting components that look perfectly fine on the outside.

And even if a repair gets the gear working again today, that doesn’t mean it will stay reliable tomorrow.

Our repair experts evaluate the condition of the gear, identify the extent of the damage, and consider whether a repair can result in equipment that is genuinely reliable.

That’s where experience matters.

Max documented the experience from start to finish.
