It's a real one's birthday today! I'm always worried everyday about you even though I know you can handle your own. Reminds me of how content you were as a kid. No matter whether we was at home or out and about I would look to make sure you was ok constantly! You would give off that energy like Daddy you bugging Im ok lol! Beautiful, intelligent beyond your age, always smiling, kind and willing to grow. I knew you was going to do great things on your journey in life. Being able to witness your growth has done a great help to a man who has wanted to give up on himself in the past. A true blessing. I can't thank you enough for being yourself unapologetically! To my one and only HAPPY BIRTHDAY, enjoy your trip in NYC🗽 by @maxamillion7923

Last night...well worth it! 12 Rivers Takeover was definitely a moment. Seen some DJ homies, ate and drank good(free & secret menu love from SLAB), & plenty of room to move around. Set up was nice!

But that party tho! DJ Umami, Buck, Ferno, Skratch Bastid, Jazzy Jeff, Jus Blaze all killed it!

Add to that Talib Kweli, Freeway, Bun B, Beanie Sigel, Redman, Jadakiss...and Dave Chappelle showed up!

They still have 2 more days of events, never know who might pop up. But you missed out last night🤘🏿🤘🏿 taken in Austin, Texas by @maxamillion7923

You with all this GOAT 🏀 talk between MJ, KB🐍, LBJ we can't forget the greats that have came before them. Especially Dr.J!!!!!

Julius Erving played in both the ABA (2-time champ) & the NBA in the 70s during the time when both leagues were merging teams to become what it is today. Dr.J was a legend on the blacktop and the gym known for his gracious flair combined with skills and high flying dunks to top it off. This was during a time when the big men in the middle were the only ones dunking baskets. One of the early revolutionary players of the game. Before retiring the NBA in the 80s, Dr.J won a championship with the 76ers. Check this old movie Pops put me onto as a kid "The Fish That Saved Pittsburgh"

These next few Black History posts will focus on the midwest where I grew up. Hope you like em!

Red Foxx, comedian from the city I'll always love, St. Louis. Known for his unapologetic jokes which landed him as one of the earliest Black comedians to perform in Vegas.

Before graduating high school in Chicago and landing in Vegas, he became close friends with his co-worker. That man was Detroit Red aka Malcolm Little aka Malcolm X. Small world.

Make sure you check out some of his famous party records (over 50 of them)! Also watch some old episodes of the golden globe winner's TV shows "Sanford & Son" or "The Royal Family." Or my alltime favorite comedy, "Harlem Nights."

Before the deaths of Tupac & Notorious BIG there was another great rapper taken from us at an early age.

Lamont Coleman aka Big L was a Harlem emcee who was respected by many of his peers at a young age. His punchlines were untouchable in the early 90s. He formed two rap groups (1st ome included Jay-Z, 2nd group included Camron & MASE).

Gone at the young age of 24, Big L was just getting started with his solo career. Check out "Lifestylez Ov Da Poor & Dangerous."
