This summer I’m in residence in the Hamptons, spending my days painting and developing new work.

Last week, @i.z.y.a joined me in the studio for a day to photograph what I’ve been working on and talk about the summer so far. taken in Springs, New York by @maxbennnettt

Max Bennett draws on archival imagery to explore how we remember people, moments, and experiences. As he translates these images into paint, details dissolve, bringing the emotional imprint of our memories to the surface.

Through layers of oil paint, the image shifts. His paintings take shape in the space between what a photograph preserves and what memory reshapes.
